Mor kuzhambu / mor kulambu recipe with Buttermilk (Mor), toor dal, coconut, ginger and green chilli as main ingredients. I already have a mor kuzhambu recipe which does not need any soaking part. Buttermilk Kuzhambu or mor Kuzhambu is commonly prepared in South India. Mor kuzhambu is prepared in southindia.
Instructions to make Buttermilk kuzhambu Morkuzhambu:
- Soak chana dal for 1/2 an hour in water. If we have less time we can add fried gram(no need to soak) instead of soaking chana dal.
- In a mixer, add garlic, shallots, green chilies, soaked chana dal or fried gram,ginger and shredded coconut.
- Grind to a paste.
- In a bowl add 2- 3 cups of buttermilk.
- Add coconut paste and turmeric to buttermilk.
- Switch off the stove when it starts to boil. Don't boil it. Otherwise it curdle.
- Heat kadai. Add oil, red chili, fengruek, mustard and asafetida. Saute it.
- Add this to buttermilk. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
- We can also add chana dal vada or cooked white pumpkin or fried ladies finger to this buttermilk kuzhambu
Buttermilk Kuzhambu or mor Kuzhambu is commonly prepared in South India. Mor kuzhambu is prepared in southindia. Its very easy to make and belief that if we take more buttermilk/curds in our diet it cools our body! Mor Kuzhambu is a popular south Indian dish.
