  1. Make ready 1/2 cup jaggery
  2. Take 1 tsp dry ginger (saunth) powder
  3. Take 1/2 tsp pipramul powder (ganthoda)
  4. Prepare 2 tsp flaxseed (alsi)
  5. Get 1 tsp carom seeds (ajwain)
  6. Take 1 tbsp musk melon seeds (kharbooje ke beej)(optional)
  7. Make ready as needed Chopped dry fruits (optional)
  8. Take 2 tsp ghee

This comes from fresh ginger that is dried before being used. It is a fine off-white powder that has a strong aroma and pungent flavour. Drink this with hot water for relief. Consumption of a mixture of Saunth, Asafoetida and Black salt helps in removing gas.

Instructions to make Saunth & flaxseed pak:
  1. Grate/crush jaggery.
  2. Heat ghee in a pan. Add flaxseed. Once it crackles add ajwain, saunth, pipramul powder. Saute all for 1/2 minute.
  3. Add jaggery. Saute all until jaggery melt.
  4. Turn off gas.
  5. Note:
  6. Eat hot 4-5 tsp once or twice in a day. Don't drink water at least 15 minutes before or after eating this pak.
  7. You can make it's laddoo & can store in air tight container.

Drink this with hot water for relief. Consumption of a mixture of Saunth, Asafoetida and Black salt helps in removing gas. A popular and delicious way to eat saunth is by making chatpati saunth chutney, which is commonly served with samosas. Saunth is also added to the water added to mouth-watering gol gappas. Saunth laddoo is a traditional which is used medicinally.
