Steps to make Barley khichadi:
  1. Soak 1 cup barley and 1/2 cup chana daal at night
  2. For cooking take a pressure cooker - Add ghee 1 tablspoon
  3. Add whole cumin to it
  4. When cumin crackles add - dal(water drained & kept aside) and roast it for 1-2 minutes.
  5. Add chopped carrots and peas - Stir for 2-3 minutes and then temper it with just black pepper and salt to taste
  6. Then add barley and stir everything again
  7. Added hot water 3-31/2 cups and closed the lid of cooker.
  8. Give 2-3 whistles to it and switch off the gas
  9. Let the pressure release on it's own
  10. Have it with curd with black salt & bhuna cumin powder
  11. Relish hot.

I was not sure how it will taste like as did not knew if I can actually combine both.
