The ingredients needed to make Sabudana Vada / Sago Patties:
- Take 1/2 cup Sabudana/Sago
- Make ready 2-3 boiled Potato, mashed
- Take 1 Green chilli, chopped
- Prepare 1/2 cup Less than Kuttu aata/Buckwheat flour
- Prepare 1.5 tsp grated ginger
- Take 1 tsp Red chilli powder
- Get 1 1/2 tsp Coriander powder
- Make ready 1/4 tsp Black pepper powder
- Prepare as required Vegetable oil for deep frying or shallow frying
- Get as required Rock salt
- Take As required Fresh Coriander leaves, chopped (optional)
Deep fry in medium flame to ensure that Sabudana Vada/Sago Patty is cooked. These sago patties are made in very less ghee and can be consumed during fasting. Soaked Sago Pearls- ½ cup If you are not preparing these for the fasting period then you can add normal salt and variety of masalas in it. Instructions to make Sabudana Vada / Sago Patties:
- Add 1/2 cup of sabudana in a bowl, rinse them 2-3 times. Drain the water and soak them in one and a half cup of water.. for at least 6 hours. Once they are soaked well, drain the water and transfer the soaked sabudana in a mixing bowl.
- Add mashed potatoes, chopped green chillies, red chilli powder, coriander powder, black pepper powder, dry ginger powder, chopped coriander leaves, grated ginger, rock salt and Kuttu aata.
- Combine everything well. If the mixture is sticky then grease your palms with oil and make flat patties (as shown in images.)
- Now heat oil in Kadhai. Drop these patties carefully in Kadhai. Fry these on medium-low heat, till they turn golden brown and crisp. Once done from both sides, transfer these on plate.
- Serve hot with tamarind or coriander chutney.
