Simply pan fry them in butter for a few. My absolute favourite way to eat liver used to be the Italian calf's liver dish called 'alla Veneziana' which is an elegant version of liver and onions from Venice.   6. When the masala is properly mixed, put in the pieces of liver and add a little water
  7. Saute it till the masala is blended with the pieces of liver
  8. Then add water and cover the pan with a lid
  9. Leave it for sometime, stirring it occasionally.
  10. When the liver is is cooked and the gravy is thick and dry, add sugar and a pinch of garam masala
  11. Stir it one final time
  12. Serve

But calf's liver is pretty expensive here in Italy, so not a good every day dish. Very generous amount of chicken livers which I use for making a simple paté. Inexpensive, easy to make and really. Add the chicken livers to the frying pan. Heads up— Completely impractical chicken keeper here It has been ages since I have been on BYC.
