Instructions to make Onion Brown Bread:
- In a frying pan heat oil over medium heat. Cook onion and jeera until soft and cooked. Season with salt and add red chilli powder. Set aside to cool.
- In a large bowl, mix wheat flour with spring onion leaves and corainders. Dissolve the dry yeast with salt and 1/3 cup lukewarm water and sugar and add to the flour mixture. Add the rest of 1 cup (240 ml) water, mix everything together then add cooked onion and knead until the dough is smooth and pulls away from the sides of the bowl.
- Cover it and let it sit for about 1 hour at room temperature to rise until doubled in size.
- On a floured surface roll the dough into a round loaf. Place in a baking tray and leave to rise again for 30 minutes. Optional sprinkle black sesame seeds and few green onion chopped leaves on top.
- Preheat oven to 200c - Bake for 15 minutes - Reduce oven temperature to (180C) and bake for another 10-15 minutes. - Cool on a wire rack. Let the bread cool completely before cutting.
- Serve them with your favourite dipping sauce. I enjoy eating them with my garlic mayonnaise.
